Logically speaking, no one alive is the right person to discuss the various revolution phases that agriculture has gone through because agriculture existed before man himself but we can only try to see through the eyes of history how things have changed and developed over the years.
Many historians have talked about the reshaping process of agriculture from the use of manual tools and animals for farming to the use of machineries and even much more to the use of agricultural robots, driverless tractors and drones all for the sake of increasing productivity and boosting yields more efficiently.
It is believed that the Industrial revolution was the turning point in agriculture where there was a transition to new manufacturing processes in Europe and United States. The transition which happened from around 1760 to 1840 saw that people and industries (agriculture industry inclusive) moved from hand made tools to machines, and other chemical and iron production processes which gave birth to the mechanised farming that bursted into the scene in the 17th century.
Entering into the Industrial revolution phase meant that population was going to increase and then food needed for survival will increase, putting pressure on farmers who couldn’t produce as much to meet the needs of the escalating population, hence the need to build machines for more productivity.
Ever since then, industrialization has not backed off and neither will agriculture back-off and as long as we haven’t seen the end of industries we will definitely not see the end of agriculture.
